Sewn Product Prototyping for Tactical and Technical Gear

Sewn product prototyping turns your concept, drawing, or sample into a physical product. We develop patterns, build samples, test fit, and refine construction so you can evaluate the details before production.

What we can build

  • First sewn samples for tactical pouches, equipment bags, and technical covers.
  • Pattern development from buyer requirements and review of an existing reference.
  • Construction revisions after fit feedback or a change in the equipment envelope.

Materials and construction

Prototype development connects the pattern to a usable bill of materials: fabric weight, zipper size, hardware width, binding, foam, and reinforcement. Identify CORDURA® fabric, YKK® zipper systems, or other buyer-selected components, and note where substitutions are acceptable. Record material and component changes alongside each pattern revision.

Who this work is for

Product developers, brands, engineers, and agencies preparing a design for production.

Project details

  • Sketches or a written description, dimensions, and equipment access needs.
  • The questions to resolve: fit, organization, closure, attachment, or assembly.
  • Sample availability, intended material, and expected review participants.

From sample to production

We review the requirement, work through the pattern and construction approach, then build a prototype for evaluation. Buyer feedback defines any revision round. The final development output and permission to use patterns should be specified in the project agreement.

Construction details

We use sample construction and fit testing to refine dimensions, openings, closures, and attachment points. Your feedback guides pattern revisions and the production reference.

Common questions

Project questions

Do I need a finished tech pack?

A sketch, physical sample, or written concept is enough to start. Include dimensions and the features that matter most.

How are prototype revisions handled?

We agree the development steps with your quote, then use your sample feedback to identify changes.

Can the prototype lead to production?

Yes. Once the design is approved, we review materials, quantities, and scheduling for the production run.
